Access Control in Hazardous Areas: Exproof Card, Face and Fingerprint Readers

In hazardous areas, “who entered?” starts with Zone-compliant hardware, not only turnstile software. Card, face and fingerprint readers on Zone 1 / CCC Zone doors must be exproof—otherwise identity stays in the safe area and field entry becomes uncontrolled.

Use cases

  • Door release tied to permit-to-work
  • Vehicle / tanker yard entry (long-range UHF)
  • Operator identity + e-sign step on the HMI

Integration

Exproof reader → access controller / PLC → SCADA. The HMI should block unauthorized starts and keep alarm history. Cabling still needs approved glands.

Next step: Share your Zone classification and process gas/dust profile; we will prepare a quote from our Exproof product collection (HMI, barcode, access and peripherals). Genius Core acts as Official Distributor for this series with selection and documentation support.
